WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, 1:08 p.m. — A 20-year-old male student reported to Binghamton’s New York State University Police that as he was downloading Internet pornography, he thought that he had found a website that contained child pornography, said Investigator Patrick J. Reilly. University police worked with the University’s Computer Center to find out if it was, but apparently the site was not considered child porn.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, 8 p.m. — University Police received a complaint from a 36-year-old female that as she was walking across Center Drive, a car had driven past her and a passenger in the backseat of the car had thrown a snowball that hit her in the face, Reilly said. The victim was not hurt by the snowball, though she did have some redness around her mouth and she had a small abrasion on her lip. She was able to identify the car as a reddish-brown older model, and patrols were dispatched to the area. They were unable to find the vehicle and the case is pending investigation.
THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 5:57 p.m. — A 22-year-old affiliated with the University reported to University Police that as he was standing in the lobby of the Old University Union, he noticed that an older male had been staring at him for some time, Reilly said. When the victim approached the older male, the suspect said he was just hanging out in the lobby. The victim called University Police to ensure that nothing was amiss, and when officers spoke to the suspect, he maintained that he was not stalking the victim and that he was free to do as he pleased in a public area. No further action was taken.
