Lock: Jets (–4) over Buffalo
Praise the NFL gods for Chad Pennington’s health, Kerry Rhodes’ and Jericho Cotchery’s emergence and the Jets’ blessedly easy schedule. And I want to be on the record now: Rhodes is a superstar; I loved him last year after his interception in week one and he’s really emerged into a top flight safety this season.
Upset: Baltimore (+3) over Kansas City
I predicted that this matchup would be a preview of the AFC championship game, and I might end up being right with Trent Green’s return. Cincy took care of business last week as favorites against Baltimore, but at 9-3, I still don’t understand how Ed Reed and Co. are underdogs. I have a thing for safeties … user pick!
Game 1: Denver (+9) over San Diego
The Broncos, sinking ship with Mr. Cutler or not, are 7-5 and have a strong enough defense to stay within nine of The LaDainian Toml … I mean the Chargers.
Game 2: Dallas (–7) over New Orleans
Both the Cowboys and the Saints are division leaders, sporting 8-4 records, and Reggie Bush is coming off the best game of his young career while Dallas just dispatched Big Blue. The Cowboys and American Idol winner Tony Romo roll on their way to Super Bowl.
