“What’s up with the Library?” — Many students are bothered by the fact that the Glenn G. Bartle Library and New University Union are in the process of getting fresh looks while dorms remain far from perfect. Karen Fennie, the spokeswoman for Physical Facilities stated, however, that “construction and maintenance are two separate things.” According to Fennie, Physical Facilities could not — by law — use the money intended for construction to work on fixing maintenance issues such as the water in Oneida Hall. Routine maintenance issues, such as painting, are done annually, but unpredictable problems such as a lack of cold water, missing furniture or jammed drawers have to be reported in order to be fixed.
