Lock: Kansas City (-1 1√É¢√Å’2) over Miami

The Chiefs have been on a roll playing with Damon Huard at quarterback, and it will be interesting to see what Herm Edwards does when Trent Green is healthy enough to play. Either way, Kansas City has been one of the league’s hottest teams, and Miami is sure to fall off after toppling the Bears last week. Miami is not as good as advertised; the Chiefs are better than advertised. Home field will do nothing for the Dolphins: K.C. romps.

Upset Special: Chicago (Pick ’em) over Giants

After seeing their perfect season end last week, the Bears will come out firing. Not only did they lose, but they got throttled by a 1-6 team that everyone had begun to forget existed. The Giants had to fight to squeak by the Texans despite being outplayed by the worst team in the NFL. Big Blue may be the most overrated team in the league right now, having struggled against mediocre teams. This should be a good game; Bears come out on top. (Editor’s note: This is the lamest example of an upset I’ve ever seen.)

Game 1: Denver (-9) over Oakland

Is this even fair? Denver is good, Oakland is not. The Raiders can’t muster anything on offense, and Champ Bailey will make sure Randy Moss has a bad week. The Broncos looked sharp last week in Pittsburgh and should roll over the Raiders in the Black Hole.

Game 2: Carolina (-10) over Tampa Bay

In another game between teams at opposite ends of the spectrum, the Panthers are looking to bounce back from a loss, and at 4-4 do need a win. The Bucs are lucky to be 2-6, and even when Bruce Gradkowski makes good throws, they get dropped. Carolina by plenty.
