Lock: Indianapolis (-3 1/2) over JACKSONVILLE: I took a year hiatus from the Ravens and rolled with the Jags in Madden ’07. Byron Leftwich’s 98-power arm allowed me to go deep to Ernest Wilford and Matt Jones at will. But the big guy’s gone now and Matt Jones isn’t the same. It’s back to Balto for me in Madden ’08 and it’s a loss for the Jags on Monday night. Indy’s better; you know this.
DALLAS (-10) over Minnesota: Adrian Peterson was incredible in week six, but consider that the Vikings also scored a third of their total points on the season in the win over Chicago, 34 of 101 ‘ not a high-powered offense. Dallas, on the other hand, has scored twice as many points, with 203. The Cowboys are likely hungry coming off the inevitable loss to the Pats and should have this one in hand.
CINCINNATI (-6 1/2) over Jets: Both teams are terrible, but having watched the Jets, they’re just so uninspiring. Kellen Clemens needs a chance, and it’s with no hard feelings for Chad ‘ compare it to Mike Piazza leaving the Mets after 2005. (Mikey P had no arm either.) Sure, Mike would have been serviceable in 2006, but it was time for a change.
Pittsburgh (-4) over DENVER: The Steelers have the second best ground game (167 ypg), the Broncos the worst rush defense (187.6 ypg). Big Willie Parker!
