The Binghamton University men’s tennis team has now lost six of its last seven matches, the most recent at Cornell on Tuesday where the Bearcats lost 6-1.
Binghamton’s (2-6) lone point came at first singles where junior captain Faisal Mohamed defeated Joshua Raff 6-4, 3-6, (9). It is Mohamed’s fourth straight dual match win as he improves to 16-7 on the season.
‘That was by far my biggest win in my career,’ Mohamed said. ‘I’m just happy to be playing well and I feel really confident when I get on the court and that’s the most important thing to my success right now.’
The Bearcats will go on the road this weekend playing on Saturday against Buffalo at St. Bonaventure and then St. Bonaventure on Sunday afternoon. Binghamton beat both of these teams last year 5-2 and 6-1, respectively.
‘This weekend is going to be a good test for us for where we stand,’ Mohamed said. ‘Win or lose, we are just trying to get better, stronger and healthier for the future.’
