So far this year, Binghamton has proved to be the better BU.
Boston University (9-14, 6-6 AE) will face the Bearcats (12-11, 9-3 AE) at the Events Center at 7 p.m. tonight. The Terriers are tied for third place with two other teams in the America East.
“They have terrific guards and a big front line,” said head coach Al Walker. “They are very, very good.”
The Terriers are led by senior 6-foot-8 forward Kevin Gardner who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. And while Boston is tied for last in the conference in scoring offense, they are first in scoring defense, holding opponents to 57.7 points per game.
The Bearcats defeated Boston on the road earlier in the year 48-47, and it should be another close, low-scoring game tonight.
“They will defend at the highest level and try to control the tempo,” Walker said. “It will be a grind-it-out basketball game.”
