New to the BU Zoo? Here are some quick pointers on Zoo etiquette (or lack thereof):
-First of all, WEAR A GREEN SHIRT, or at least something green or white. BU Zoo shirts are best, but anything green will work.
-When the other team is announced, scream “YOU SUCK!” This is to reassure them that they do indeed suck. When we come out, cheer really loudly, especially for Sebastian Hermenier. “M-V-P” chant optional… but encouraged.
-When the band plays “Let’s Go Band,” we suggest a new chorus: “Let’s go Steve!,” directed to our buddy “Steve the male cheerleader.”
-Scream and jump up and down when Albany’s bringing the ball towards the Zoo on offense.
-If one of our guys dunks, cheer like you’re sitting on a hot stovetop. We don’t get many dunks, but don’t worry, Andre will get us at least one (not to call him out).
-Be absolutely silent and use “spirit fingers” when our guys shoot free throws. Wave your arms, scream something obnoxious, or chant “Pizza Box” when Albany’s shooting freebies at our end.
-Always clap when the cheerleaders are lifted into the air — especially if Steve’s doing it himself.
-When the band plays “The Hey Song,” again, the chorus is, “Heyyy… You Suck!”
-Albany’s doofy-looking center, Kirsten (yes that’s his name) Zoellner, should be the prime target of chants.
-IF we’re winning at the end by a solid margin, “Warm-the-bus-up” chants are encouraged.
-DON’T storm the court. We caught a lot of sh*t around the conference for doing it the other day, so unless Andre hits a 50-footer with no time left to win it, stay in your seats. Don’t worry, Senior Day is coming soon.
