Reel Big Fish will be the headlining performers at this year’s Spring Fling. The University Programming Board announced that the band will perform at the event on Saturday, April 28, to what has traditionally been a large turnout.
Vice President of University Programming Sandi Dube stated that the ska band was chosen for its high energy performance style, something that is vitally important to the success of the show.
‘It’s a really fun band and we thought it fit well with the nature of Spring Fling,’ she said. ‘We want to get people outside dancing and having fun and I think this band will do that.’
The concert is expected to live up to the success of previous years’ Spring Flings whose performers have included Motion City Soundtrack, Brand New and Less than Jake.
While Dube was unable to comment on the possibility of additional bands performing, performance times or locations, she said that she believes the concert will be a great success, and really help to make 2007’s Spring Fling exceptional.
‘I’m really excited about this,’ she said. ‘Each year, Spring Fling has grown into something bigger and better. This year we’re expecting it to be great.’
