Rory Quiller competed in his first meet of the year last week after redshirting during Binghamton’s indoor track and field season. The junior pole-vaulter looked a little rusty, as he only qualified for the NCAA Regional meet with an outdoor school record height of 17 3/4. He then won the event again last Saturday at the Dick Shea Open.

It’s safe to say: Quiller is back. He was Binghamton’s most prolific athlete last year in any sport, placing 12th at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Quiller also competes in the hurdles and decathlon in his spare time.

There was no team scoring kept in Saturday’s meet at Army, but four other athletes earned individual victories. Senior Luke Shafer won the high jump (6-4 3/4), junior Joe Flucus won the 100m (10.86), senior Adam Goldberg won the 110m hurdles (14.86) and senior Hasani Hampden won the 400m hurdles (56.63).

Freshman Kim Williams placed fourth in the 100m (12.04), but broke the school record by nearly .3 seconds. She broke the school record in the 200m last week.
