Whether the Knicks are swishing and dishing, huffing and puffing, or cruising and bruising, one thing is for sure: Walt “Clyde” Frazier will describe the action in the most unique way possible. Over the last seven years in the broadcast booth, Frazier has taught high-school students words like inauspicious, unflappable and precarious while single-handedly raising the SAT average in New York. And even though I never watch a Knick game without a dictionary close by, some of Frazier’s favorite lines have almost become common language to die-hard fans. Here’s a list of his top 10 sayings:
10. Good shooting is contagious and now all the Knicks have the knack.
9. Basketball is a game of improvisation and now he’s mesmerizing this crowd with his dazzling repertoire of moves.
8. That foul was vicious, but not malicious.
7. He threw that pass with surgical precision against this matador Swiss cheese defense.
