Vermont Catamounts (17-6, 9-1 AE):

Last game: W 72-63 vs. Boston

It was the usual suspects who provided the offense for the Catamounts, as Kyle Cieplicki scored 11 and Mike Trimboli added 20 in the win. Vermont also grabbed 37 boards and had 20 assists in the contest.

Next game: Feb. 8 vs. UMBC

From a 5-5 start to the season, Vermont is 12-1 in its past 13 games, but the real test comes this Sunday at Albany.

Albany Great Danes (18-7, 11-2 AE):

Last game: W 71-55 vs. Maine

The Wilsons (Brent and Jamar) combined for 38 points as the Danes continue to pile up the wins.

Next game: Feb. 11 vs. Vermont

Easily the biggest game of the season for both teams, with first place on the line. Albany has won eight in a row. The last team to beat them: Vermont.

Boston Terriers (9-13, 6-4 AE):

Last game: L 72-63 at Vermont

The Terriers shot 51 percent from the field, but could not hold on to their halftime lead as Vermont cruised in the second half, sparked by a 22-1 run.

Next game: Feb. 8 vs. Binghamton

The Terriers will look to continue their hot play at home. They are currently 4-1 in conference games played at the Agganis Arena.

Maine Black Bears (11-13, 6-6 AE):

Last game: L 71-55 at Albany

Shooting 3-for-20 from 3-point range won’t help you win, especially against an opponent like Albany.

Next game: Feb. 11 at Binghamton

This will be a tough road game for the Black Bears, who can inch closer to Boston in the standings with a win.

UMBC Retrievers (9-15, 5-6 AE):

Last game: L 56-39 at Stony Brook

The Retrievers struggled early and often, having only 13 points as a team at halftime. The 15 turnovers didn’t help either.

Next game: Feb. 8 at Vermont

The Retrievers are sitting in the middle of the pack, and a win at Albany would be huge. They could still finish as the No. 3 seed in the conference with a strong finish to the regular season.

New Hampshire Wildcats (8-16. 4-7 AE):

Last game: L 65-56 at Maine

Blagoj Janev shot just 3-12 from the field, scoring nine points, well below his season average of 15 ppg.

Next game: Feb. 8 at Hartford

This is the third time this season that New Hampshire has lost four straight contests. They will look to get back on track against a fading Hartford squad.

Hartford Hawks (9-15, 3-8 AE):

Last game: L 61-55 at Albany

The Hawks are reeling, losers of eight straight. Five of those eight games were decided by 10 points or fewer.

Next game: Feb. 8 vs. New Hampshire

Virtually a must-win, as the Hawks play three of their final four games on the road.

Stony Brook Seawolves (8-15, 3-8 AE):

Last game: W 56-39 at UMBC

The Seawolves ended a four-game losing streak against conference opponents, with Ricky Lucas chipping in 21 points and eight rebounds in the win.

Next game: Feb. 11 vs. Hartford

This could be a preview of the 8-9 play-in game of the America East tournament.
