What do David Wright, Jose Reyes, Lastings Milledge and you, the Pipe Dream reader, have in common? All have spent at least some point of their life here in the lovely City of Binghamton.
While the reader of Pipe Dream is here in the Parlor City to learn to be a better student, the above mentioned Metropolitans were here to learn to be better baseball players, playing for the Binghamton Mets, the New York Mets Double A Eastern League affiliate, which plays its home games at NYSEG Stadium, located at 221 Henry St., in Downtown Binghamton.
For those new BU students looking for a way to get off campus this weekend and see some players who have legitimate chances of playing in Flushing in a few years, the B-Mets will host their final series of the season this year, a five-game set against the Akron Aeros, the Double A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. tonight. A double-header is slated to start at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a 7:05 p.m. start on Sunday and a Labor Day matinee to finish off the season at 1:05 p.m. on Monday.
The B-Mets are currently 60-76, 19.5 games behind the first place Trenton Thunder.
Tickets are $4 with a BU ID.
