We all love Halloween for its scary movies, crazy costumes, haunted houses and pumpkin pie, but nothing is better than the insanely creepy stories that go down in Binghamton. This year, Pipe Dream asked students to reveal some of their scariest experiences near or on campus.
The Toast Ghost
“I live on Murray Street, and my housemates and I believe our house is definitely haunted. We call the ghost living in our house the ‘Toast Ghost.’ There have been multiple instances of freshly-made toast sitting on the kitchen counter in the morning, and no one claims it or eats it. Also, the week before school began, the electricity was not turned on in my house, and the upstairs light would randomly turn on. There was no way me or my housemates could even get into the upstairs room — the owner of the house keeps the upstairs doors locked at all times. It’s beyond creepy.”

The Rockland 201 Ghost
“My older sister used to live in Hillside and her apartment was haunted. Her and her roommates called the ghost living there the ‘Rockland 201 ghost.’ I was hanging out there alone one night, and I heard loud footsteps in the hallway. I thought it was my sister coming back from Downtown, but I called out to her and I realized she wasn’t home. Also, the lights in her apartment used to flicker only at night. There was never a problem with the electricity during the day. It was definitely weird.”
