LOCK: MINNESOTA (-5) over Oakland ‘ With two mediocre teams going against each other, the Vikings get the advantage because they are at home, have Adrian Peterson, and are looking to turn things around after getting shutout against Green Bay last week. And can you really name anybody on the Raiders who is any good? Seems simple to me.
PICKS:
Pittsburgh (-10) over JETS ‘ I have yet to pick the Jets at any point this season, and that streak will continue. I almost hope they prove me wrong and make it a close game, but with Pittsburgh going to New York with a lot of momentum after a huge comeback win, it’s not looking good for the Jets. Maybe the Steelers won’t cover and then it can be a moral victory.
BALTIMORE (+3) over Cleveland ‘ Kyle Boller will bring life to a struggling offense that has lost three in a row. They are underdogs at home against a Browns team that will still be thinking about their blown lead against the Steelers last weekend. And I can’t stand seeing Evan Drellich cry anymore after a Raven loss.
Giants (-3) over DETRIOT ‘ The first rule of betting is never bet with your heart. But this is a very dangerous game for the Giants. Coming off a disappointing loss, this could be a big letdown game. And on the road, going against a Lions team that can either show up with the 44-7 drubbing they gave to Denver or the 34-3 loss to Washington is scary. Yet, I’m still taking the Giants.
