WEDNESDAY, OCT. 19, 10 a.m. — Binghamton’s New York State University Police received a complaint that people have been stealing handicap automatic door push-pads from the Chenango Champlain Collegiate Center, Investigator Patrick Reilly said. UPD created a report on the matter and the case is under investigation.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 19, 11:13 p.m. — Officers on patrol received complaints by resident assistants in Dickinson Community’s Whitney Hall of of a marijuana odor coming from a room to whose occupants the RAs were about to serve judicial paperwork, Reilly said. The officers responded to Whitney Hall, identified the smell of marijuana and then entered the room after the three male students inside gave the officers permission to do so. One of the students did not live there, but upon search was found to have a duffel bag containing a plastic bag with three grams of a green leafy substance that the police identified as marijuana. The bag also contained 87 small plastic bags, which are commonly used to distribute marijuana. The suspect was arrested and given an appearance ticket to the Vestal Town Court, while the other two students were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
THURSDAY, OCT. 20, 1:20 a.m. — Officers found a 20-year-old, intoxicated female student outside of College-in-the-Woods’ Oneida Hall, Reilly said. The student was unresponsive but breathing. Her friends said they had been drinking Downtown. Harpur’s Ferry responded and transported the student to an undisclosed local hospital.
